As you know we are Horiztonal Stripes, but your probably wondering where we got our name. I don't think there is really much to the name, Jay and Wardy just thought about it one day. All of us except for Jay live in Sebring, Jay lives in Beloit. We started our band because there isn't much to do around here and we all wanted to play instruments so I bought a guitar, soon after Jay got his first drum set, Alex wrote some songs, and Wardy got a bass from someone that his dad worked with. After we had all gotten instruments we started practicing together and writing songs and it wasn't long before we had our first 4 songs and started playing shows with those and some covers.

Jon:
Hey my name is Jon Ruffier, I'm 15 years old I live in Sebring, go to Sebring High School, and oh yea...play guitar in Horizontal Stripes. My favorite bands are Blink-182, MxPx, Green Day, New Found Glory, Relient K, Insult To Tradition, Parwana, The Starting Line, SOC, SCAP, Fenix TX, The Ataris, M.I.A., Yellowcard, Punchline, Sum 41, Less Than Jake, Rancid, The Ramones and a lot of other ones, if it's punk I like it. I started playing guitar in August of 2002 and I've been playing my guitar pretty much everyday since then. I play lead guitar in the band on an Ibanez guitar through a GLX 212 120 watt Crate amp. I use the distortion on my amp. For my guitar is use a red Ernie Ball guitar strap, .60mm Dunlop Tortex Picks, and Super Slinky Ernie Ball Guitar Strings. Hello, I am the drummer. I am the only band member that lives in Beloit. I started to play the drums in the fall of '02, so I haven't been playing too long. I play a set of tama swing stars. they are pretty good. I have paiste cymbals with tama hardware. I use a variety of sticks just talk to my band members and they will complain about all of my stick changes. My favorite bands are the used, afi, anti-flag, relient k, soc blink 182, nfg, the all American rejects, scap(a fellow local band), mxpx, weezer, lit, the starting line, sum 41, fenix tx, rufio,the ramones, brand new, silver stein, five iron frenzy,the distillers, rooney, and the ataris I like to skate board with zach. howdy this is zach ward as u know im the bass player of horizontal stripes. i play a fender jazz bass.i have ernie ball super slinky bass strings and i use 60 mm dunlop pics.i have a old yamaha that was my first bass that thing is so freaking old its unreal.I play through a 140 watt Hartke amp.im 14 and i live in sebring the boringest town in the world.i dont know when or how i got started on bass but i got good over time. my dad got me a bass from his freind the bass player of Grimace. listen to them there good. we started to practice and we got good so we started to have shows. my favotite bands are rufio, s.o.c, scap, blink 182, relient k, rancid, and five iron frenzy. i like alot more bands but im to lazy to put al of them. the best show on t.v. is ren and stimpy. i also like aqua teen hunger force and 54321 but they cant top ren and stimpy. my AOL screenname is him00hs.mary christmas and a happy new year.
